Therapies

• Ultrasound is a therapeutic treatment using high frequency sound waves that are administered in the region of soft tissue injury.  The sound waves penetrate deeply into tissues to create a warming and flushing response and help reduce inflammation and pain.

• Electric Muscle Stimulation is a special form of electrical current administered at the site of soft tissue injury.  Small amounts of electrical current are introduced into the tissues to reduce swelling, strengthen muscles and reduce painful symptoms.

• Diathermy is a form of shortwave electro-magnetic energy used to raise the temperature of certain soft tissues deep below the surface of the skin.  This increases blood circulation which can help speed the healing process.

• Mechanical Traction induces passive motion into the spine for the purpose of stretching spinal joints which increases mobility.  Traction increases circulation and increases the volume of fluids that cushion the spinal joints.

• Myofascial Release is manipulation of soft tissues that have become shortened and immobilized following a physical trauma (like an automobile accident or fall). Our chiropractors may use this therapy to actively release the tension stored in the fascia (tissues encasing muscles) to increase blood flow to impacted areas and relax muscles.

• Trigger Point Therapy is myofascial release that focuses on specific sensitive bundled muscle tissue that can cause either referred pain (pain in another location) or local pain. Trigger point therapy can improve the balanced function of muscles for better performance and release of tension to promote healing and reduce back pain.

• Percussion Massage is muscular massage that utilizes a drumming (percussive) technique that gently breaks up tightly bound scar tissue and adhesions, relieves tension, increases blood flow, and can make spinal manipulation more effective and long lasting.

• Cold Laser Therapy has many positive benefits which include increased tissue repair, enhanced immune function and lymphatic response, enhanced nerve regeneration, increased endorphin levels, reduced pain and inflammation. Low-level laser therapy uses low-level light rays to increase activity and stimulate healing at the cellular level.

Rehabilitation and Support

• Therapeutic Exercise are prescribed rehabilitative stretches and exercises that are done in our office after being demonstrated by our chiropractors. Stretches and exercises speed recovery and maintain correction to reduce dependency on provider intervention.

• Neuromuscular Reeducation is the performance of specific activities to improve balance, coordination, kinesthetic sense, posture and proprioception. 

• Orthopedic Supports include back braces, neck collars, extremity and joint supports,

• Athletic Taping provides additional structural support to injured and weakened tissues and helps stabilize joints.
